Brazil | Fazenda Lagoa
Deep in the heart of Minas Gerais where shimmering lakes meet rich, fertile farmlands lies Sul de Minas, one of Brazil's most celebrated coffee-growing regions. It was here, almost a century ago, that the Vieira family planted their roots. Their first farm, Fazenda Lagoa, still stands today, its original farmhouse and wide verandah framed by ancient Jabuticaba fruit trees a living piece of history.
Grown at altitudes between 900 and 1,100 metres, the coffees of Fazenda Lagoa are nurtured by the land around them. Nearly 600 hectares of preserved forest surround the farm, drawing conservationists from across the globe to study its remarkable biodiversity and hundreds of bird species.
For Marcelo and Adolfo Vieira, quality is everything. They believe in closing the distance between the people who grow coffee and the people who drink it building lasting relationships that ensure the consistency and care that speciality coffee demands.
